Zombie games can be a dime a dozen. They really are, especially given the recent Steam sales.
Oh so great. And copied.
There are tons out there, and zombie aficionados are left having to sift through mangled corpses of what once was a proud and growing growing genre. Of Left4Dead, how you’ve been copied and ripped off. It’s so sad.
There is some luck to be had, however. Once again, it sits with the indie games community in the developers of Flotilla. If you missed out on Flotilla, it is a brilliant and simple tactic space battle game. Buy it immediately, especially if you’re a fan of the X-Com style of games
They created this gem called Atom Zombie Smasher. Essentially an RTS/Tower Defense mashup, you can garner everything from gameplay by a short gameplay video. Such as this.
That’s the gist of it. You control a series of military-esque weapons to save citizens of a town. The gameplay never gets more than that. The genius part of the game is the actual feeling of being overwhelmed. you see, when the zombie apocalypse comes (and it will), most of us as dead. Chances are you won’t be the witty Ellis cracking jokes while holding a shotgun.
So many humans running for their lives.
Instead, you’re going to be that yellow dot running for your life. And with this game, you get that helplessness. And it is a blast, literally. It’s cheap, fun, and hours of gameplay. Go buy it.
