An iPhone is in my future.

Now that I am a San Franciscanite, I am constantly inundated with the iPhone. My roommate has it, everyone at work has it, and everyone on the streets has it. But I’ve held my own. I’ll be damned if I buy something for the ’simplicity’ or the ’status’ of it. And really, that’s all the iPhone has been. At least, until this week.

Steve Jobs usually promises more then he delivers - The Mac Air is certainly not very useful, the Mac Pro’s are not updated or fancy, and Snow Tiger is still invisible. But the two things for the iPhone - Mobile Me and the App Store are two features I was unsure of and found out that they delivered more then I needed.

With Mobile Me, the iPhone directly syncs with my computers - all 4 of them, including the work computer - without any effort on my part. No longer the slave to Palms terrible Missing Sync software, everything is going to be continually synced.  That is wonderful. Add to that the iCal and Contact integration, and it’s a feature I’ve yet to see paralleled.

With the App Store, there are now tons of features for the iPhone that  were not there for you 1st Gen people. MMS messaging, iChat, Games, and…whatever the hell I want, really. I can do what I need with my phone easily.

So, tomorrow I’ll be in line, picking one up. I suppose that cinches it - I’m a mac person.

I feel so dirty.
